Sarah Zhu is working as an intern at our Lucite International Shanghai offices in China. For eight months, Sarah will be working as a Customer Service Representative (CSR) alongside current employees to gain valuable skills and experience. We speak to Sarah to find out about her current responsibilities and plans for the future.
What are your main responsibilities?
As a CSR intern I look at purchase cycle procedures to build sales orders and purchase orders in SAP. I follow company revenue and file the signed hard copies of external sales orders.
Can you describe a typical day?
I manage inventory and finish a delivery plan in conjunction with the sales manager. I also prepare import and export business documents and keep sales records. I communicate with colleagues at our offices in Guangzhou, China to organise the daily cargo scheduling.
What are the top three things you’ve learnt so far from working at LI?
I have learnt a lot from working with my colleagues. Being able to better cooperate with them and communicate with them has helped me to really enhance my team-working skills. Having responsibility here at LI also gives me a sense of great pride.
What are you hoping to get out of your time with the Company?
I want to gain valuable industry experience. I would also like to increase my communications skills.
Choose three words to describe working at LI?
Happy, relaxed and proud.
What is special about the way in which LI is helping you to achieve your goals?
Everyone I work with is willing to help me and share their experiences. My colleagues are extremely kind and welcoming and I am able to learn a lot from them.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to increase my knowledge of Business English. I would like to return to LI to gain further skills and experience when I graduate.
