And I would like you all to renew your commitment to continue to keep safety. Compliance is also one of our top priorities together with safety. In order to prevent compliance issues, I would like to share here things with you. Speak up. Never hide problems. Address problems before they grow into big issues.
Last year also marked the beginning of a transformative journey for our company. Some may feel that we are now in the midst of the storm. However, I would like to remind you that the hardest part of any journey is the first step. I am confident, looking back from several years ahead, we will remember the year 2022 as a great turning point of our group. To ensure the company’s long-term success in a rapidly changing world, we have tackled difficult challenges head on. 2022 marked the year of “walking the talk” and aligning our company structure to achieve this new vision.
Our strategy can be summarized in three words: simplification, focus, and growth. Simplification means creating a leaner structure and establishing common processes across the company. Focus means that we invest our resources with more intensity in focused markets. And growth refers to the fact that a company must grow to exist, so we need to focus our energies on growing the Mitsubishi Chemical Group. Let’s make this new year about proving to the market as well as to ourselves that we are on the right track to achieve growth.
