In addition to raw materials, Mitsubishi Chemical offers a range of advanced part designs and manufacturing solutions. Our Near Net Shape technology provides blanks very close to the geometry of the finished component. We also have an extensive range of state of the art molding machines and auxiliaries for advanced machined and molded solutions. Mitsubishi Chemical also has the capabilities at multiple locations to design, engineer and even manufacture parts composed of carbon fiber composites and materials that can increase performance while decreasing cost and weight.

Composite Thermoplastic Materials
Mitsubishi Chemical composite thermoplastic materials offer low density, corrosion resistance and good insulation properties, in addition to high strength and stiffness. Our range includes glass-mat and fiber reinforced thermoplastics as well as carbon fiber and other materials. These composite materials have been developed to replace metals and wood because of their high performance.

Engineering Plastic Stock Shapes
Many applications can benefit from the use of stock shapes to manufacture finished parts, as they reduce the overall time to machine parts also reducing costs. These shapes are available from Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials in standard, engineering, advanced and extreme plastics, ranging from 175 to over 425 degrees F. They are also available in a variety of sheet sizes as well as cylinder and tube.

Acetal provides high strength and stiffness coupled with enhanced dimensional stability and ease of machining. As a semi-crystalline material, acetal is also characterized by a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties -- especially in wet environments.

Delrin™
Delrin™
Acetron POM-H Delrin is a homopolymer acetal, manufactured and stocked in rod and plate. It offers slightly higher mechanical properties than Acetron® GP Acetal, but may contain a low-density center, especially in larger cross-sections. Copolymer acetal also offers better chemical resistance than homopolymer acetal. Delrin is ideal for small diameter, thin-walled bushings that benefit from the additional strength and rigidity of homopolymer acetal.
